Common Disorders of the Eye

*Eyelid Disorders*

a.) Blepharitis- inflammation of the eyelid margins.
                        -irritation, burning, itching, ulceration, eyelashes fall out.

b.) Chalazion - internal style.
                       - inflammation of the Meibomian gland (responsible for the supply of  sebum)
                    - painless, slow-growing, hard, non-tender round mass on eyelid.

c.) Hordeolum- external stye.
                       -pustular infection of eyelashes follicle or sebaceous  gland on an eyelid margin.
                      - painful, red swelling on eyelid margin.
